Real-Time Visibility for a 300-Vehicle Fleet

The Challenge

GreenLine Logistics runs full-truckload and last-mile operations across northern and western India. Dispatchers assigned trips over phone calls and WhatsApp, drivers submitted paper trip sheets and fuel receipts days after a run, and customers chasing a delivery had to wait while the operations desk called the driver. Vehicle utilisation was estimated, never measured, and the leadership team suspected — but could not prove — significant fuel pilferage and unauthorised detours.

Off-the-shelf telematics products had been trialled, but they stopped at dots on a map. GreenLine needed tracking to connect to the commercial side of the business: trip billing, proof of delivery, driver settlements, and vehicle maintenance schedules, all of which still lived in disconnected spreadsheets.

The Solution

7x Technologies delivered an end-to-end fleet platform. GPS/IoT devices with fuel-level sensors were fitted across the fleet, streaming telemetry into a FastAPI ingestion service that processes over two million data points a day into a PostgreSQL/PostGIS store. A React-based control tower gives dispatchers a live map with geofenced route corridors, automated ETA calculations, and instant alerts for route deviation, unscheduled stops, harsh driving, and abnormal fuel-level drops.

Drivers received a React Native app in Hindi and English covering trip acceptance, turn-by-turn navigation, digital proof of delivery with photo and signature capture, and expense logging — eliminating paper trip sheets entirely. Customers now receive automated tracking links and delivery confirmations over WhatsApp and SMS.

The platform, deployed on AWS with Docker, also closes the commercial loop: completed trips flow straight into billing, driver settlements are computed from verified trip data, and odometer-linked maintenance schedules flag services before breakdowns happen. A management dashboard tracks utilisation, cost per kilometre, and driver scorecards across the fleet.
